Great Paxton

Where local action started for me, and where follow-through still matters

Great Paxton is where I live, and where I first got properly involved in local issues. It is also where I saw first-hand how hard it can be to turn clear local need into actual delivery. That experience is a big part of why I’m standing.

The common thread across the ward

Every village in this ward has its own character and its own priorities. What links them is something simpler. People want to be heard, kept informed and properly represented when practical local issues need pushed through the system.

What I’m hearing locally

What matters in Great Paxton

  • Ongoing concerns about road safety and traffic speed
  • Safer crossings and better visibility at key points
  • Protecting and supporting local services and community assets
  • Frustration at how long things can take to move forward
  • A feeling that the village has been overlooked for too long
What sits where

Who needs to do what

Part of good local representation is being clear about which level of government can actually move an issue. That is how you turn frustration into follow-through.

Great Paxton is where my local work started, but it is not where it stops.

What I have learned here about persistence, alignment and follow-through is exactly what I want to bring across the whole ward.

If there is something missing from this picture, I would rather hear it and improve it than pretend the work is done.
