Great Gransden

A strong village identity deserves a strong village voice

Great Gransden is a village with a clear identity and a strong sense of community. What I’m hearing is not a lack of ideas or engagement. It’s a need to make sure local priorities continue to be heard clearly and carried through when decisions are made.

Continuity matters here

Great Gransden has been well represented, and that has made a difference. Sarah encouraged me to stand, and James has been supportive of that decision.

He remains involved locally, and very much part of the picture. My role is not to replace that, but to build on it, keep things moving, and make sure the village continues to be properly represented as decisions are made.

The common thread across the ward

Every village in this ward has its own character and priorities. What links them is something simpler. People want to be heard, kept informed, and to see things followed through properly when it matters.

What sits where

Who needs to do what

Part of good local representation is being clear about which level of government can actually move an issue. That’s how you turn conversations into outcomes.

Parish
Parish

Parish council reflects local priorities and village sentiment, especially where feelings are strong.

District
District

District council plays a key role in planning, local amenities and making sure village concerns are not brushed aside.

County
County

County council handles school transport, roads and wider infrastructure, so that pressure has to be applied in the right place.

My approach

How I would work for Great Gransden

Respectful
Respectful

Great Gransden doesn’t need someone to speak for it. It needs someone who listens properly and reflects that voice accurately.

Consistent
Consistent

My role would be to carry local views through the system clearly and steadily, especially where issues are sensitive or contested.

Practical
Practical

I focus on getting things done. That means understanding how the system works, keeping conversations open, and pushing issues through to a result.

Approachable
Approachable

I’m always open to a conversation. If something matters locally, I’d rather hear it early and work it through properly than let it drift.

Tell me what I’ve missed

Local knowledge matters

If you live in Great Gransden, I’d genuinely value your view, especially on what I may not have picked up yet.

The best outcomes usually come from good conversations at the start.
